TacoFall

🐾 Overview

TacoFall is a side-scrolling platformer where you play as Taco the cat — lost and trying to get home. Run through procedurally generated streets, jump over obstacles, stomp enemies, and survive the journey. Every level is different. Every run is new.

🎮 Controls

← → Move left / right

SHIFT Sprint (drains energy)

↑ Climb out of sewer

Pro tip: Sprint + Jump = higher and farther leaps! Your momentum carries through the air even if you release the arrow keys.

❤️ Health & Energy

6 HP — shown as hearts above your cat and in the side panel
3 Lives — lose all HP and you restart from your current position
Energy bar — sprinting drains it, walking regens it
Getting hit — knockback + invulnerability blink for 1.2 seconds
Cars & gators deal 2 damage, everything else deals 1
Falling off screen is instant death regardless of HP

Stomping: Jump ON TOP of moving enemies to destroy them for +100 points! You bounce off after a stomp, letting you chain kills.

🌿 Power-Ups

🐟 Fish Treat	+1 HP, +20 energy, +50 score
🌿 Catnip	45 seconds of 2x size, 2x speed, huge jumps — lost if hit!
🦄 Unicorn (rare!)	Full HP + Full energy + Catnip + 500 points

🕳️ Sewers

Stand on a drain and press ↓ to drop underground. The camera drops to show the sewer — brick ceilings, dripping water, and dangers lurking. Find the cat tree exit (glowing with ⬆️ CLIMB UP) and press ↑ to launch back to the surface ahead of where you entered.

Sewers are shortcuts but they have rats, snakes, gators, and sometimes a rare 🦄 unicorn!

🎒 Collectables

30 items across 3 categories scattered through each level:

🎩 Accessories (rare, +250) — Top Hat, Shades, Crown, Bowtie, etc.
🏆 Trinkets (medium, +100) — Yarn Ball, Gem, Gold Coin, Trophy, etc.
🍣 Food (common, +25, +1 HP) — Tuna, Sushi, Cheese, Bacon, etc.

Items glow with category-specific colors. Open the Collection gallery in the cheat menu to see what you've found!

🌍 Environments

The Suburbs — houses, trees, fences, bushes
The City — tall buildings, cones, cars
The Park — trees, greenery
The Sewers — underground passages, pipes, dripping water

Weather appears at higher levels — rain (level 3+) and snow (level 4+).

📈 Difficulty

Each level is 25% longer than the previous
Enemies move 15% faster each level
More enemies spawn per level
Catnip: 30% spawn chance on levels 1-2, drops to 8% on level 5+
Unicorn chance: 50% per sewer on levels 1-2, 15% on level 5+

🧠 Strategy Tips

Sprint + jump for maximum distance — essential for crossing gaps
Stomp enemies instead of dodging — free points and a bounce
Sewers are shortcuts — skip tough surface sections
Save catnip — don't get hit while powered up!
Collect fish — they heal HP and restore energy
Watch the progress bar — you can see how close home is
