Cambo: First Nip is a side-scrolling bow shooter set in a cat cafe backyard. Channel your inner Rambo as you nock arrows and fire at cats darting across the screen. Aim with precision, manage your arrow supply, dodge obstacles, and rack up combo multipliers to climb the leaderboard. 20 campaign missions plus endless mode.

🎮 Controls

🐈 Cat Targets

11 types of cats dart across the backyard at various speeds. Bigger cats are easier to hit but worth fewer points. Tiny speedsters are the real prize.

🦅 Bird Targets

Birds perch on poles and fence posts throughout the backyard. They're bonus targets worth extra points but small and tricky to hit.

🏹 Bow & Arrow

Your bow is your only weapon. Click to nock an arrow, then move your mouse up or down to adjust the firing angle. A dotted trajectory preview line shows the arrow's arc. Release the mouse button to fire.

• All arrows travel at the same speed — only the angle changes
• Arrows follow a parabolic arc (gravity pulls them down over distance)
• You start each level with 15 arrows
• Missed arrows are lost — accuracy matters!
• Arrow count shown in the HUD at all times

🚧 Obstacles

The backyard is full of obstacles that block your arrows and your movement.

• 📦 Boxes — jump over them (press W near a box)
• 🪵 Branches — duck under them (press S near a branch)
• 🧱 Fences — block arrows, find gaps to shoot through
• 🌳 Cat Trees — cats climb them, arrows stick into the wood

🏹 Arrow Pickups

Look for glowing 🏹 arrow bundles scattered around the level. Walk over them to collect +5 arrows added to your quiver. They shimmer with a green glow so you can spot them easily.

🏆 Scoring

• Each cat type has a base point value (see Cat Targets table)
• Combo multiplier builds with consecutive hits:
  • 2 in a row = 2x
  • 3 in a row = 3x
  • 4 in a row = 4x
  • 5+ in a row = 5x (max)
• Missing a shot resets your combo to 1x
• PURRFECT bonus — hit every single cat in a level for a +1000 point bonus
• Bird hits do not count toward combo but add flat bonus points

📋 Levels

Campaign Mode

20 handcrafted missions, each approximately 10% longer than the last. New cat types, obstacles, and bird targets are introduced as you progress.

• Levels 1-5: Backyard basics — Tabbies, Grinnys, simple fences
• Levels 6-10: Cat trees, branches, Smirkers and Kissys appear
• Levels 11-15: Erratic Screechys, dense obstacles, eagles overhead
• Levels 16-19: All cat types, tight arrow economy, boss Leos
• Level 20: The Final Nip — everything at once, PURRFECT or bust

Endless Mode

Unlocked after completing Level 5. Cats keep coming until you run out of arrows. How long can you keep the combo alive?

🧠 Strategy Tips

1. Lead your shots — cats are moving, arrows have travel time. Aim ahead of the target.
2. Conserve arrows — don't spam shots. Wait for clean angles and grouped targets.
3. Prioritize small cats — Kittens and Kissys are worth the most but disappear fast.
4. Keep the combo alive — 5x multiplier turns a 100-point Tabby into 500 points.
5. Watch for pickups — arrow bundles glow green. Grab them before you run dry.
6. Use obstacles as timing cues — cats slow down near fences and boxes. Strike then.
7. High angle for far targets — gravity drops arrows fast. Lob shots over fences.
8. Low angle for close rushers — flat shots connect faster on nearby cats.
